This is one of the most remote trekking destinations in the far eastern part of Nepal. This trek offers impressive view of the mountains all the way to MilkeDanda area. Especially MilkeDanda is more popular area for different kind of flowers including the Nepal’s national flower rhododendron. This is long and high forest ridge that divides the Arun and Tamur valley in the eastern Nepal. You have a great view of Makalu, Kanchanjanga and other peaks. This trek leads through pleasant lowland country, up onto a remote, uninhabited ridge with fine mountain views of four of the world's five highest peaks. This Trekking lead to base camp of third highest peak of the world Mount Kanchenjunga which is least known among all great peaks. Exotic name such as Wedge peak, Pyramid Peak, JanuHimal, White Wave, and the Twins, of course, Kanchenjunga provides the inspiration to make the challenging trek to base camp. Our approach takes us up through terraced hillsides of the remoter ethnic group of Rai and Limbu and well-preserved forest of rhododendron, birch oak and spruce. Mount Kanchenjunga sits astride the Nepal/Sikkim border only a few miles from Tibet. This route was open to the trekkers in 1988, though people have trekked in the area in connection with mountaineering expedition since the turn of the century. The region is still restricted to organized expedition group only, special permit needed. An outstanding trekking route that lies amid the great peaks Kanchenjunga and Makalu is popularly known as MilkeDanda trek. This is long and high forest ridge that divides the Arun and Tamur valley in the eastern Nepal. This trek offers you the composite package of varieties of culture, traditions, vegetation, geography and uninhabited ridge with fine mountain views of four of the world’s five highest peaks. The trek starts from Taplejung. MilkeDanda ridge eventually ends in some high peaks, so we have to retrace our route back down Chainpur and ending the trek at Tumlingtar. There are huge forests of rhododendrons along the ridge.  En route you will experience the excellent panoramic views of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Makalu (8463m) and Kanchenjunga (8586m world’s third highest peak) to the east. In addition, Tibetan life style, Yaks and cheese are other attractions of the area. Especially MilkeDanda is popular for various kinds of flowers including the Nepal’s national flower-- rhododendrons.
